Dear Villa Heights Family:

The Joplin City Council met last Wednesday and removed some of the stay-at-home restrictions. One item was to allow churches to open for Sunday worship with some limitations. In order to be in compliance with these restrictions the following limitations will be in place starting May 10th:

  1. If you are sick, stay home.

  2. If you have a serious chronic illness (heart disease, diabetes, COPD, flu, cold etc.), please stay home.

  3. Because of seating limitations we will be having 9:00 am and 10:30 am services. Please come to the service that best meets your schedule.

  4. Some rows will be closed to ensure social distancing, and we ask that you sit in the rows with this in mind,

  5. We are required to ensure no one is sick or has a temperature. To meet this requirement we are asking that:

    1. You park on the East side of the church (across from the exercise building).

    2. Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the service.

    3. Please remain in your car and 2 people will be in the parking lot taking temperatures with a contactless instant read thermometer and ask screening questions. Each person that passes the screening will get a sticker that will get you into the church building.

  6. The coffee bar will be closed.

  7. There will be no Sunday school, nursery, or Jr. Worship.

  8. We will not have the meet and greet time.

  9. The sanctuary and bathrooms will be sanitized prior to each service.

  10. Communion will be served at the end of the service and will be placed on the altar in front of the sanctuary and on both sides. There will be two cups together, bottom cup has the bread and top juice. Please carefully take your communion and once taken place in the waste basket beside the table. Please place your tithes and offerings in the basket on the table. Once done exit the sanctuary and leave the church to go home.

  11. There will be no Wednesday night Prayer meeting, youth groups, or in-home Bible studies.

  12. We plan to live-stream the 10:30 service on Sunday morning, and the sermon will also be available on the Villa Heights web site ( on Tuesday.

  13. Please respond to this email to inform the elders if you will be attending and, if so, which service. Again if you are sick, please stay home.

As always, if you have a personal or family need, please contact your elder, Truman, or myself. We will be there for you during this difficult time. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 417-317-4587.
