News and Updates

“God is pursuing with omnipotent passion a worldwide purpose of gathering JOYFUL worshipers for Himself from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. He has an inexhaustible enthusiasm for the supremacy of His name among the nations. Therefore, let us bring our affections into line with His, and, for the sake of His name, let us renounce the quest for worldly comforts and join His global purpose.”  -—John Piper

Many thanks to those who gave to Colegio Biblico (Eagle Pass, Texas) on Dollar Sunday, September 23. Your gift of $237.00 will be a huge blessing.

Good News Productions: A moving story took place recently in Mexico. Pastor Gustavo invited guests into his home to watch Adicciones, the Addictions Documentary produced by GNPI—Mexico. One of the guests was Raziel Nunez, who had recently spoken at a youth conference. As the guests watched the documentary they were surprised to see Raziel was one of those interviewed. Raziel’s testimony of God taking him from addict to pastor and youth speaker had such a powerful impact, that every guest surrendered his life to Jesus Christ that evening. Pray that GNPI continues to produce culturally relevant videos that testify to the goodness of God.

ARM Prison Outreach International: This is an excerpt that Joe Garman shared in a recent letter from Bill Faust.

“I am from the Compton District of South Central Los Angeles. I have been beat, kidnapped, shot, stabbed, tortured, and am now incarcerated. I have broken all Ten Commandments and attempted suicide on several occasions. . . . I have been in and out of jail all my life and in rehab three times. By mistake, I was assigned to an in-prison Christian housing unit, and that’s where I first learned about you. Now, I am a Christian, and I count those wasted years—‘lack of Jesus.’” Continue to pray for transformed lives.

Mexican Missionary Organization: Gil and Debbie Calderon have asked us to pray for the plans for the Bible Institute, which is a huge project—restructuring the entire school—academics, physical campus, new teachers, and staff. There’s also a tremendous need for better leadership in the churches in Mexico. On another note, the Loma Bonita congregation reports 15 young people renewed their commitment to the Lord, and five people were baptized. Praise God for the fruits they are seeing there.

Lamp Lighers World Ministries: (Steve & Shanthi) The recent video, which was derogatory of Mohammad and Islam, has sparked outrage among the Muslim communities. Steve reports that since this erupted, he has more or less been under “house arrest” so to speak. Other preachers and family members who live close to these Muslim communities have warned Steve to stay at home. Steve asks that we pray for his safety, as well as the other Christians and Americans around the world. This month six people were baptized into Christ at the Periya Kallar Church. The church is growing in number and there are usually non-Christians who come to worship. One young man, who is the husband of a church member, has a drinking problem. With lots of prayers, he is now coming to worship services. Please pray that God will work in his heart and he will give his heart and life to Jesus. P.S. Shanthi’s birthday is November 1. If you would like to send her birthday blessings, her email is

Literature and Teaching Ministries (LATM): Please pray for Susan Casey as she continues to heal from recent back surgery.

Christ In Youth (CIY): Christ In Youth’s annual Wilderness retreat for youth ministers is scheduled for October 11-15 at YMCA of the Rockies: Snow Mountain Ranch. Wilderness is a chance for youth ministers to get away from the routines of their lives and reconnect with Jesus through studying God’s Word, and enjoying times of solitude.

White Fields: Please pray that God will supply Reggie with traveling mercies, good health, energy, and divine opportunities to touch lives as he spends time in Haiti this month.

Please continue to pray for all the missionaries and ministries Villa Heights supports. May souls continue to be saved and added to His Kingdom.
