Truman Brady, Senior Minister

Hi! I’m Truman Brady. My wife, Tina, and I are both Seneca, MO, natives. I graduated from Seneca High School in 1976. I worked for Dillon’s Food Stores as a meat cutter and later became the manager of stores in Fayetteville, AR, and Pittsburg, KS. After 15 years, Tina and I purchased our own grocery store in Seneca and operated it for 8 years. My dream in life was to own 2 or 3 grocery stores, retire at 58, play golf, and fish until I died. Little did I know that God had other plans for me in my life.

About 20 years ago, I preached my first sermon in the Seneca Christian Church during a Sunday evening service. It was a 12 minute sermon that wasn’t very good. There was an old elder there in the church, Roy Mason, who saw something in me that maybe no one else saw. He encouraged me to preach again. Before I knew it, I had preached in 22 different churches in the area; all because of one elder.

After Tina and I sold our store, I didn’t know what I was going to do with the rest of my life. Then one day I heard that a little church in Fairland, OK, was looking for a full-time minister. I went over there to preach a Sunday service, just to do some filling in for them. I was asked if I was interested in the position and I said, "Yes!"

Tina and I were there for a wonderful 4 years. It was the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. There is nothing better in life than to see someone give their life to Jesus. It’s better than owning 3 grocery stores and retiring at the age of 58.

In October 2010, I took the position of senior minister here at Villa Heights. Wow! Am I ever blessed! Already God has been doing some wonderful things, “Bringing people to Christ - one soul at a time.” That’s what life is really all about.

May I ask you this question? Is your life all about getting rich with material things and retiring when you're 58? Because if it is, you’re missing out on what life is really about. This life prepares us for the next life. Where will you spend it? Come and give us a visit. We would love to see you get connected with God right here with us.
